It's just about the sweetest text Beth has ever received and she grins down at her phone before she responds, telling Serena she would be happy to and to give her half an hour to get ready and head over. She's already bought a few gifts for George, some clothes for when he's a little older, a cute little stuffed elephant, some extra blankets and a few pairs of socks, but she's made sure to bring something for Serena, too.
She's not breastfeeding, so Beth has bought her a little bottle of champagne to celebrate her son's birth, but she's also picked up a little basket of cheese and fruit to bring along, too.
Once she gets there, she presses the buzzer for Serena's apartment, holding all the bags of things she's brought, and waits patiently, smiling at someone who's heading down the sidewalk.
